The Basingstoke Ganesh Utsav was started in 2004 as a small celebration to bring together all in Basingstoke that celebrate this unique festival. With an initial attendance of just over fifty people in 2004, the popularity of the festival has grown over the following years with just over two hundred and fifty devotees attending the celebration in 2019!
This annual, volunteer driven event at the Carnival Hall in Basingstoke incorporates a Ganesh puja, sahasravarthan and followed by prasad. Each year we have one or two host families who sponsor part of the costs and the rest is borne by the volunteers.
Please contact us if you wish to be the host, just donate towards this event or wish to volunteer on the day as well.
This year the Ganesh Utsav will be celebrated on the 15th of September from 09:30 am and finishing at 1:30pm sharp. Entry for the event required prior registration at https://www.trybooking.com/uk/DPVO. Please arrive anytime between 10 am and 12 noon as entry on the day closes at 12 noon.
